Part-Time Publishing Assistant with Book Post

Book Post is a bite-sized newsletter-based book review delivery service, sending well-made book reviews, by distinguished and engaging writers, direct to your in box.

Founding editor, Ann Kjellberg was on the editorial staff of the New York Review of Books from 1988 to 2017. In 2009 she founded the literary magazine Little Star. She is the literary executor of the poet Joseph Brodsky and editor of several editions of his work.

Book Post seeks a part-time Publishing Assistant to support its editor, Ann Kjellberg. The ideal candidate has a sincere interest in books coverage and is enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of a young organization.

Duties include:

·              Managing the publication’s various social media channels (see @bookpostusa)

·              Correspondence with publishers, partner booksellers, event hosts, and others on behalf of the editor

·              Editorial support setting up pieces for publication in a newsletter platform

·              Supporting the editor in seeking exposure and growth opportunities for the newsletter 

Requirements:

The job requires around fifteen hours of work a week, remotely, with flexible hours, at $16 an hour. Knowledge of analytics in Google and social media platforms is a plus. Applicants should be skilled at writing engagingly for a general audience and managing their own time.
