Below are some additional resources offered by the Office of Career Strategy for current GSAS students, postdocs, GSAS/postdoctoral alumni, and employers interested in recruiting students with MA/MS and PhD level backgrounds.
Register Your GSAS or Postdoc Organization With OCS’ Student Advisory Committee
Are you a member of a GSAS student or postdoc organization with a professionalization or career focus? Would you like to learn of the ways in which your organization can partner with OCS, other student/postdoc organizations and do more over the course of the year? The Office of Career Strategy invites you to join our Student Advisory Committee! This committee is designed to bring together like-minded organizations seeking collaborators, input, and marketing support for their professional and career ventures. This committee meets monthly. To join our next session, please email OCS McDougal Career Fellow Brian Bink at email@example.com.
Apply For Event Funding
Are you a member of a Yale GSAS student or postdoc organization that is setting up a career-related event? The Office of Career Strategy offers modest funding to registered graduate student or postdoc groups to support career-related activities. Most funding awards are $200-$300, but may be higher depending on the size of the organization and event. Please click the link and follow all instructions (including outreach to Brian Frenette at firstname.lastname@example.org after form submission!): GSAS student and postdoc event funding request form
Post An Open Position Within Our Newsletter
We welcome organizations and individuals to share available non-faculty, non-postdoc positions open to GSAS students and postdocs within our newsletter. Please note that submissions are subject to approval. To add your job or internship to our newsletter, please email complete this form.
Report your Internship Experience
If you have had an internship or part-time position either on or off-campus while a graduate student or postdoc at Yale, please let us know by filling out this brief questionnaire. The organization and position will be made available to fellow students and postdocs interested in such opportunities. All personal information is OPTIONAL!
Internship experience questionnaire for graduate students
GSAS students must complete a form to officially request permission to participate in a summer internship while receiving Yale funding. All requests for summer internships are administered by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The form may be found here.
Reserve Space at the Office of Career Strategy for Remote Interviews
Please note that this program is temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Need a private space to have a remote interview with an employer? OCS offers an interview room to students seeking a quiet space for virtual interviews. Available weekdays from 9:15am-3:15pm when OCS is open. To sign up for a block of time (60-minutes for interview + 15-mins preparation), sign up by visiting the Yale Career Link homepage. Select ‘Advising & Calendar’ on the left toolbar, and from the drop-down select ‘Advising Appt’. Click the ‘Request New Appointment’ button and select ‘Virtual Interview Room’ in the drop-down as the ‘Appointment Type Requested’. Please bring all needed equipment, there is no phone or technical support. Swipe in at the front desk when you arrive to check in before entering the interview room.
