Position Title: Legal Assistant
Reports to: Partner & Paralegal
Normal Work Hours: Monday- Friday 9 am – 5 pm (occasional overtime may be required)
Employment Status: Full-time/Non-exempt (overtime eligible)

Job Purpose: To provide administrative and technical support to attorney and team at all stages of litigation, including investigation, filings, records requests, discovery, and deposition and trial prep.
Job Description:
- Correspondence: Manages incoming calls, emails, and mail, including expenses and invoices.
- Calendar: Records relevant dates; anticipates and calculates deadlines; schedules case events, including depositions; plans basic travel attorneys, clients, and witnesses.
- Court Filings: Drafts routine motions and forms; gathers evidence and prepares exhibits; verifies citations and proofreads; finalizes and files documents.
- Depositions and trial: Drafts subpoenas; coordinates with all necessary personnel; prepares exhibits; oversees necessary equipment and technology; etc.
- Discovery and file management: Utilizes cloud-based and physical filing systems effectively; requests records; documents and maintains all evidence.
- Research: Conducts research on the Internet, social media, virtual databases, local/state/federal rules of procedure, Connecticut Practice Book, etc.
- Medical Records: Coordinate with the paralegal to request medical records on existing open files.
- Teamwork: Follows up on delegated tasks and assignments; refers matters to attorney or paralegal as necessary; supports and collaborates with colleagues in the firm as needed,
