Malta House of Care-Waterbury is a federally-deemed free clinic that has been in operation for 12 years. They serve the uninsured of the Greater Waterbury area, providing free primary care. All of the MDs and nurses are volunteers. In 2022, the mobile clinic transitioned to a brick-and-mortar clinic.
In early 2023 they adopted the EPIC electronic health record system and are looking for volunteers to serve in scribing roles. The clinic operates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12-5pm. Students would need transportation as the volunteer roles are in person. There is a need for Spanish and/or Portuguese-speaking volunteers. Volunteers need to be vaccinated for COVID and Flu.
