Please visit our website for the current list of projects in development. Your internship could have a significant impact during this important growth period!
This internship is appropriate for 2nd and 3rd year law students with significant experience with family law, LGBTQIA+ issues, and/or nonprofit development and organizational experience with an interest in contributing to the development of our organization and projects. The internship will involve hands-on training in family law practice, LGBTQIA+ rights and issues, and non-profit management with direct supervision and mentoring.
Depending on the interests and ability of the student, this internship could involve:
- Document drafting, filing, and procedure for family law matters
- Development of educational materials
- Legal research and writing for project development
- NGO organizational development research
- Grant writing
- Client interviewing and intake
This internship requires excellent research and writing skills and at least a basic family law class, and an ideal candidate will have taken classes on assisted reproduction, adoption, and/or LGBTQ law.
The Summer 2024 internship is expected to be full time (maximum 35 hours/week), remote, during business hours for at least 10 weeks.
Our internships are unpaid. Opportunity exists for mentoring on specific skill development, a recommendation letter and references/connections for public interest, small firm, solo practice, or legal service/non-profit/LGBTQ practice at the end of the semester.
