Yale Biomedical Engineering Student Society

Student Groups & Organizations

The Yale Biomedical Engineering Society aims to increase awareness of the possibilities available through biomedical engineering, an interdisciplinary field in which the principles of basic science and engineering are applied to medicine. We hope to provide students at Yale with access to applied biomedical engineering in both academia and industry. We serve as a support network and forum for all biomedical engineering students to ask for advice or express their concerns in hopes of creating a strong, integrated major.

The goals of the Yale Chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society for 2020-2021 focus on increasing connections among BME students as well as providing resources to build their skill sets to launch them towards their dream internships at Yale and careers beyond Yale. Yale BMEs will host weekly webinars and tutorials that engage students in practicing engineering and design as well as recruit industry and research professionals to give talks about their careers and the possibilities that a BME degree allows for. Additionally, Yale BMES plans to host virtual designathons and hackathons to challenge teams of students to think outside the box and apply the knowledge they have gained from courses, life, and the society’s webinars. This will be a year of growth and connections for BME students at Yale.
