What is the Yale Ph.D. Ideation Challenge?
The Ph.D. Ideation Challenge is a new opportunity for Yale graduate students and postdocs to offer fresh and creative perspectives to leaders and experts in the business and non-profit sectors. In a dynamic, brainstorming workshop, teams of students from diverse disciplines generate new and creative solutions to business, strategy or policy problems. This fun, fast-paced experience provides a unique way to learn and practice applied, analytical thinking while building professional experience.
Ph.D. students and postdocs are asked to read optional background materials and be an active participant in a 3-hour workshop. In return, you will:
- Gain experience in strategic thinking in a new format
- Get a first-hand look at work done by organizations of interest
- Interact with leaders working on complex and interesting issues
- Learn about rewarding careers for PhDs
- Practice teamwork with peers outside of your discipline
